UNION SQUARE

SOMEONE TOLD ME THAT UNION SQUARE IN NEW YORK CITY WAS SO NAMED BECAUSE THIS SUBWAY STATION WAS THE FIRST INTERCHANGE BETWEEN THE TWO INDEPENDENT UNDERGROUND RAILWAYS. I THOUGHT THE NAME HAD TO DO WITH THE CIVIL WAR, OR TRADE UN IONISM. WELL!
AND THIS UPSURGING NEIGHBORHOOD IS GETTING AS CROWDED AS THE NEXUS OF 34TH ST. AND B'WAY. ONE CAN HARDLY WALK THERE IN COMFORT. NOW THERE IS LITTLE NECESSITY TO GO UPTOWN ANYMORE, UNLESS UPSCALE BUYING IS
THE MOTIVE.
